Denver Police Department Digital Cameras for Traffic Investigations and Patrol

For the first time in a number of years, the DPD is able to hold academies for training of new police officers.  New, state-of-the art academy equipment was provided to encourage excellence in fitness for the new recruits.

Result:

The DPD now requires officers to document all use of force cases and domestic violence cases with digital photography. This policy change has resulted in fewer lawsuits against the City and in more plea bargains especially by domestic violence offenders.
